Purpose of the Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all learners and sets out the disciplinary procedures to be followed in cases of misconduct. It is designed to create a disciplined and supportive environment conducive to learning.

In accordance with Section 8(4) of the South African Schools Act, every learner enrolled at the school is legally bound by this Code of Conduct. Upon admission, each learner is required to sign a formal declaration of commitment to uphold the Code (see Annexure A).

Application of the Code

This Code applies to all learners:

  • • While on school premises
  • • When representing the school at events, functions, or activities
  • • While off-campus but still under the school's care or in uniform

The enforcement and oversight of the Code of Conduct is the responsibility of the School's Disciplinary Committee.

Support and Intervention: SBST

The School-Based Support Team (SBST) plays a key role in the implementation and monitoring of this policy. The SBST is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Code and offering appropriate support and intervention for both victims and perpetrators of misconduct, including bullying.

Composition of the SBST

The SBST consists of the following members:

  • • Head of SBST
  • • Principal
  • • Deputy Principals
  • • Teachers selected by the learner body
  • • School Psychologist and/or Social Worker

Our Commitment

This Code of Conduct reflects Krugersdorp High School's dedication to fostering a culture of accountability, mutual respect, and personal growth—ensuring that every learner can thrive in a structured, secure, and inspiring learning environment.
